GET TO KNOW
PAULINE VANDEWIELE
FROM STUDIO LUMIN

I am Pauline
Wedding photographer, interior architect
Based in Antwerp, I photograph weddings with an eye for light, composition, and the people who make a day worth remembering.
I’m drawn to photographs that hold both beauty and personality: a portrait you want to frame, an unexpected expression, the familiar way someone reaches for your hand. I want you to recognise yourselves in your photographs—and the people you love, too.
An eye for spaces. An interest in people.
Alongside photography, I work as an interior architect with my sister. Both practices have shaped the way I see. I notice proportions, textures, the light falling across a room, and how a setting can give a photograph its atmosphere.
At a wedding, that attention extends to everything happening within the space. I might notice a beautiful doorway, but also your father standing in it, watching you get ready.
That combination is at the heart of Studio Lumin: thoughtful compositions, with room for life to happen.
How it feels to have me there
You don’t need to know how to pose or feel comfortable in front of a camera before we meet. Much of the day, I observe and photograph what unfolds. During portraits, I offer gentle direction when it helps—finding the light, suggesting where to stand, giving you something simple to do together. There is room to move, talk, laugh, and settle into it.
Before the wedding, we take time to get to know each other and talk through your plans. I want to hear what you’re looking forward to, who matters to you, and anything you feel unsure about. By the time the day arrives, we have something familiar to build on.
One of the things I most enjoy hearing afterwards is that being photographed felt easier than expected.
A little of my own story
My mother is Chilean, my father Belgian. They met while travelling, and I grew up with more than one language and more than one place to call family.
My husband and I also spent years living in different countries before making a home together in Antwerp. I know what it means to count down to seeing someone, and how precious it can be to have everyone you love in the same room.
Perhaps that is part of why weddings matter to me. Alongside everything you have planned, there are people who have travelled, made time, and shown up for you. I want your photographs to hold something of those relationships.
At home, life is shared with my husband, three cats, and books that regularly keep me awake longer than intended. Aurora, in particular, likes to supervise the editing.
Let’s get to know each other
Choosing a photographer is also choosing someone who will be close by throughout your wedding day. It helps to feel at ease together.
If my photographs speak to you, I’d love to hear about your plans. We can arrange a conversation, answer your questions, and see whether we’re a good fit.

& LAST BUT NOT LEAST
MY DARLING, MY AURORA
While I share my desk with my husband, I also share it with Aurora — our dearest (and, admittedly, most pampered) cat. We have three, each with a personality entirely their own, but Aurora has claimed a special place in my heart. There’s something in the way she looks at me that suggests she’s convinced I invented sunlight. I suspect, in her universe, I’m responsible for everything: the wind, the rain, the comfort of home. And without fail, she takes her seat in front of the screen while I edit your galleries — not in judgement, but in quiet awe and devotion. She watches every image pass by, a soft presence and a silent cheerleader — floofy, faithful, and somehow woven into the work behind every gallery I deliver. And thus every gallery you receive is checked and double checked by not only me, but little Aurora as well.

If that isn’t support, I don’t know what is.
I love you, precious little thing.
